Hey fellas,
Im planning on installing a cam cleat on the rear aka mount bar on the left hand side with a few extra cheek blocks and fair leads for routing, so I can control Furling / Reefing / Mainsheet ropes from rear seat Solo position... the front aka mount is pre▪drilled for this mod but rear isn't... Question is, does anyone know what size drill bit and tap to use? Thanks!

Just some more thoughts on rear seat solo furling control: ○ curious to see if Hobie sells a replacement rear aka mount for the TI that is already drilled & tapped on left handside ○ I think i may choose the Harken H092 Bullet Block over standard H233 due to some lurking over on Yakass a.k.a. modern kayak fishings Josh Holmes! H092 H233 ★ I will start a build thread when i get all the odds and ends sorted out ★

Ok found some pictures of Josh Holmes rig over on Modern Kayak Fishing site.... this is to route furling rope to portside on the AI. Im thinking of doing same thing, but route ropes to rear seat position... I also will install clam cleat to rear aka mount cross bar instead of to kayak itself.

Harken Fairlead 424 ● You would use drill bit size 9/64 to make hole then use tap to thread hole to 8-32NC ■ Hobie cleat support wedge w/ fairlead part # 79531101 ■ Hobie cleat support wedge part # 79531111 ■ Harken Micro Cam-Matic II cam cleat Sorry for the info being not organized in this post, my tablet im typing from is acting up

I drilled and tapped new holes today... just waiting on parts mentioned above!
☆Word of advice☆ The hole spacing has to be perfect or you are done for, lol

I worked on the rear seat furling modification this weekend, I received most of the parts so started the install. This first pic is showing the 4 added micro cheek blocks part # Harken H233, this is also a from my understanding a racing modification.. It makes it easier to furl the sail in at high winds by eliminating the sharp angle the Furling line makes coming off the barrel into the cam cleat fairlead... I also can use the reefing line left handed or right handed from front seat position and is also the beginning of the riging for the rear seat mod and since I want to be left handed reefing line im going to run the line down the left side of the kayak... So eventually there will be a 3rd cheek block and instead of coming out of second CB and going into cam cleat fairlead it would drop further down into the 3rd CB and start its way down the side of the kayak under the first aka mount with a few Harken fairleads as retainers...

Which brings me to the next pic.... This is the cam cleat that I drilled and tapped the holes for at the rear seating position on the left hand side of the rear aka mount, there will probably be another 2 Cheek Blocks leading the Furling line into this cam cleat fairlead, one of which will need a spacer or something so there is a better angle into cam cleat...but at $15 a piece these will have to wait till next week... lol A pic of the rear aka mount Mainsheet cam cleat on the right and Furling / Reefing cam cleat on the left... next I need to order the longer original equipment Hobie furling line, estimated cost $100 This Is a pic of the colored Harken fairleads....

It will not run through the front cam cleat just through the cheek blocks... in this picture it is rigged for left handed front seat sailing position... There will be a 3rd cheek block directing the line under the aka mount I need to get the rest of the hardware mounted to show you, hard to explain..

Worked on the rear seat furling modification some more today... I added spacers to the front 2 cheek bk made out of old cutting board. I drilled & tapped the holes for the cheek block mounted on the under side of the aka cross mount. I still need to install the fairleads along the side and 1 more cheek bock directing the Furling rope into the rear cam cleat.
