I'm new to this forum and Im super exited to get my adventure island in a week. I was wondering if any of you guys have taken the akas and amas off the AI and taken the sail off and used it as a normal kayak. If so, does it work well. I would assume that the large rudder and the turbo fins would keep it stable.

I started off with just the adventure for almost a year and then bought the adventure kit. In that year never went btb, but went to many of lakes and the bays and it did just fine. i did upgrade the rudder and turbo fins the day i got it and it can feel like it will tip at first when you turn but it doesn't and you get used to it. also nice to just use one ama on windy days when you want a little extra room to put things (if you have some hakas or tramps) or just want the extra stabilization. all in all i love my AI and will probably keep it when i get a TI in the hopefully not to distant future.
