I recently been pondering with the idea of building a wave deflector. I have seen the one on YouTube, but did not like the extensive modifications needed to retro fitted onto the nose of the AI. So with this one, I drilled one hole and used the pad eye on the front to secure it. It seems to be sturdy enough to pick up the AI from deflector its self. I'd like to get some feed back on this. Was is worth the effort or not ?

How is the wave deflector working out? Is this to keep the nose from submarine°ing, I have experienced this, portside ama buried and nose of kayak bout 4" below water line....Scary! My fault though, combination of bad weather..... big waves, heavy wind and too much sail.. Haha! Im thinking of finding an old snow board on craigslist / garage sale and modifying it...

Attachment DeletedDon't have the AI anymore, but yes it did work very well. This was built with a snow ski that I bought on craiglist for $30.
